Description
The Vithidham School (โรงเรียนวิถีธรรม) is located on the grounds of Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University, which also manages the direction of the school via several committees. It began as a primary school in 2010, but has recently added 3 years of secondary school. Parents are heavily involved in participating in their child's education and growth. A native English-speaking volunteer from abroad is hired each year to help with English education.
Vithidham is a "Way of the Dharma" school — dharma being the universal truths common to all individuals at all times, proclaimed by the Buddha. The school is guided by the following 3 dharmas:
The first dharma concentrates on the teachings of the prophets of various religions, and the manner in which they all teach people to have a good heart.
The second dharma concentrates on “Nature” and instills the students with a love of nature — living in balance with natural resources and the environment. This is often promoted through school field trips.
The third dharma guides children to develop their unique potential, while living a normal life and not feeling superior to anyone else.
