Chilly Bar is the only expat bar/restaurant in Sakon Nakhon city, and is located about 1.7 km away from Robinson's shopping mall. They have a wide variety of spirits, and a good selection of local Thai beer. Their menu includes pizza, sandwiches, and cheeseburgers, as well as Thai food (including our favorite Gaeng Massaman, a Thai style Muslim Curry).
They have a a free pool table, and an outside patio where you can relax and watch the street life. The establishment is run by Khun Apple, whose expat husband David works at a local university. If you need some advice about your stay in Sakon Nakhon, Apple would be a good person to talk to.
Check out their Facebook page for weekly specials and occasional musical guests, including both Thai musicians and Western blues singers. The bar is situated about halfway between Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University and the City Gate entrance to the downtown area.
