Description
Namastey Food (นมัสเตฟู้ด อาหารอินเดีย) is Sakon Nakhon's only Indian restaurant. But even though they have no competition that hasn't stopped Namastey from serving not only the best Indian food in Sakon Nakhon, but some of the best Indian food in Isaan (Northeast Thailand).
Namastey doesn't have the deepest Indian menu of Indian food, but the dishes that they do make are exceptional. Their Chicken Tikka Masala (roasted chicken chunks (tikka) cooked in a creamy, spiced tomato-based sauce) is one of the best I've ever had in Thailand.
Other delicious Indian curries (meat and vegetarian) include Butter Chicken, Palak Paneer, Egg Curry, and Paneer Tikka Masala, all of which are offered in two portions, as small for about 110 baht and a large for around 210 baht.
They also offer the popular mixed rice dish Chicken Biryani, Lamb Masala Curry, Chicken and Paneer wraps, and (by special request) Bombay potatoes.
For those who worry about Indian food being more expensive than local Thai options for lunch, Namastey offers a boxed takeaway option (available all day) for only 69 baht. It includes baked chicken and potatoes cooked in mild herbs and spices, Basmati rice, and a flavorful Indian sauce.
The boxed takeaway is obviously not a large portion for only 69 baht. But if you have a hearty appetite, you can eat two for a still very affordable price of only 138 baht.
Many local Sakon Nakhon residents order a variety of Indian dishes from the menu for pickup. Then take them home to freeze and eat later, which is cheaper than ordering frozen Indian food online from a vendor in Khon Kaen or Udon Thani, and much better!
Note that Namastey Food is open on Mondays when many other Sakon Nakhon restaurants are closed. However, they are closed on Tuesdays. Hours are from 11am - 9pm.
