Description
The Huai Nam Bo Reservoir (อ่างเก็บห้วยน้ำบ่อ) is a charming little Sakon Nakhon lake that's about 30 minutes from Sakon Nakhon city. The reason for visiting this reservoir is that it is surrounded by three interesting Buddhist sites: the rustic Khao Dan-Tham Suea Bureau of Monks (built in an area filled with smooth volcanic rocks), Wat Pracha Suksan Wararam (featuring curious murals of hell), and Ham Bing Pracha Suk San Priest's Camp Site (with its striking black cobra gate).
The Huai Nam Bo Reservoir is one of the more attractive small reservoir lakes in Sakon Nakhon (Northeastern Thailand), similar to that of Upper Huai Sai Reservoir Ton Bon 1, which is only about 10 minutes away. Both provide a lovely mountain backdrop, with plenty of area to walk around.
