Our favorite little noodle shop in Sakon Nakhon is located not far from the Huai Sai Reservoir, between the Ban Pang Bang Nuea School and Wat Ban Non. In addition to great noodle soup (Guaitiao), they have the best Khaw Moo Yang and Khao Man Gai in the area, and only for 30-40 baht. To order the larger 40 baht portion, you need to say the Thai word "pee-set" (พิเศษ), which means special. Som Tam also can be ordered.
In addition to being near Huai Sai, you'll pass this little noodle shop if you are traveling to Wat Phu Danhang (วัดภูดานฮัง) or the Nam Dtok Kam Maak Fai waterfall. They are closed on Mondays, and other days are open usually around from 9am - 3pm. Fat Mango Pizza is also down the street for great takeaway pizza.
