Dusty Rust-Eze Craft and Art Bar is a charming coffeehouse in the Sawang Daen Din district, about 1 hour northwest along the road to Udon Thani. It's a little tricky to get there when traveling from Sakon Nakhon, if you are following the audio directions on Google Maps. It's on the opposite side of the split highway. So, you want to be aware when you are getting close on Google Maps, then pass the place a little, and take a U-turn to come back down the road to arrive at the coffeehouse.
Dusty Rust-Eze Craft and Art Bar has an interior that is beautifully designed, with a vintage flair, thanks to the design skills of Khun Liu, the owner. As the name suggests, the coffeehouse is a place that promotes local artists and artisans, including photography, painting, and traditional weaving and hand-dyed fabrics. Khun Liu is also a good English speaker, and will be happy to talk with foreign visitors about the arts and crafts on display, as well as their diverse menu of dink items.
Sakon Nakhon has a thriving arts and traditional crafts community, lead by a new generation of artisans. While there are popular downtown Sakon Nakhon locations such as the Art Hopper Bar and Mann Craft, the arts community stretches throughout the province, including the Dusty Rust-Eze Craft and Art Bar.
As Sakon Nakhon coffeehouses go, you'll find some unique delicious offerings here, such as Cannabis Honey Lime Tea, Ginger Beer Espresso, Cannabis Mixed Berry Tea, Shizuoka Matcha (Japanese Green Tea), a wide selection of herbal teas (such as Lavender, Safflower, Chrysanthemum, Peppermint, and Chamomile), and Espresso Bel Normande (espresso mixed with sparkling red grape juice). They also offer delicious hand-made cakes and sweets, which vary by the week.
