Wat Pa Thiti Thammanuson (วัดป่าฐิติธัมมานุสรณ์) holds a special place for us at MySakonNakhon.com, as this village temple is where we regularly go to "make merit". Over the past 20 years, it has been wonderful to watch this small forest temple slowly develop its Viharn and modest forest grounds into a beautiful meditative place.
Phra Ajahn Chaweng Thiti Thammo (พระอาจารย์เชวง ฐิติธัมโม) is the abbot of Wat Pa Thiti Thammanuson, and he (along with two other monks) have worked hard in developing the temple and serving the local Um Chan community. The drive out to the temple from Tambon Phang Khwang is one of our favorite motorcycle trips, as well as the rides to Wat Tham Kham and Phra That Phu Phek in the district of Phanna Nikhom. Although not a mountainous journey, the rural roads take you through several quaint small villages and lovely rice fields.
Located about 40 minutes from Sakon Nakhon Airport, Wat Pa Thiti Thammanuson (วัดป่าฐิติธัมมานุสรณ์) currently has plans for expansion in forested grounds that are just opposite the concrete walled area of the current temple. Depending on the amount of funding that is acquired in the future, it could become a Sakon Nakhon temple that attracts many visitors throughout the province who are seeking the way of the Dhamma.
