Description
Wat Pa Wang Hua Moei (วัดป่าวังหัวเมย) is a small village temple located only about a kilometer away from the Wat Si Sawat (the Thai Good Luck Temple) and Wat Pa Thammawimok. There is a main Buddha image in the courtyard, sitting on a lotus flower, with signage that reads: พระพุทธเนรมิตลําฤทธิ์ผลทันใจ. This saying could be translated as meaning that the Buddha has the power to magically transform your heart and mind instantly.
In the Buddhist context, this is what "success" truly means: that is, to achieve the Buddha mindset that is detached from the worldly things which produce suffering, while still working within the world to alleviate the suffering of others and doing the right thing in your personal and professional life, in all your work and relationships.
In Wat Pa Wang Hua Moei's courtyard, there is also a lovely spirit house that is labeled as a shrine to Pu/Grandfather Nak Nako (ศาลปู่นาคนาโค), who represents the fatherly spirit of the Naga serpents. Such spirit houses are common at rural, village temples in Sakon Nakhon, and often include an old man and woman as representing the village ancestors.
