Wat Phra That Dum – Sakon Nakhon Khmer Ruins

Wat Phra That Dum (วัดพระธาตุดุม) is a Sakon Nakhon temple complex that contains the ancient ruins of the Khmer era stupa Phra That Dum. Around 1000 years old, it is one of several ancient Khmer ruins in Sakon Nakhon province — the most famous one being the mountaintop ruins of Phra That Phu Phek.

New additions and improvements to the temple complex continue to be made, as the Khmer ruins attract visitors who make merit inside the sacred room of the stupa, as well as tourists who are curious about the ancient architecture and carvings above one of the entrances. The temple is located in Sakon Nakhon city, and has ample parking.
