Description
Hom (ฮ่ม) Sakon Nakhon is a pottery barn with a small coffee shop located on the main road that leads to the popular tourist attraction Wat Tham Pha Daen. Because this small highway (Route 2339) is increasingly traveled by tourists going to the famous temple, more and more shops are locating themselves on this road to attract customers, one of the longest established retailers being the KramSakon Indigo Fashion Shop, which is located just a few kilometers down the road from the Hom pottery shop.
Hom Sakon Nakhon creates its owns hand-painted ceramics and pottery, including various styles of vases, cups, plates, and garden ornaments (ranging from the traditional to the modern). All items are reasonably priced, and inexpensive compared to similar products sold in Bangkok. They also do hand woven products, and have a farm which grows high grade cannabis (no THC), which is used for making delicious tea available at their small coffee shop, which also sells the usual coffee drinks, as well as very delicious cream cheese brownies (and perhaps other select desserts in the future).
Hom Sakon Nakhon is easy to spot on the right hand side of the road as you are traveling in the direction of Wat Tham Pha Daen. There is large, tall signage, and a slender, electric-producing windmill in front of the house. It's only about a 15 minute drive from downtown Sakon Nakhon, and 3 minutes from Chang Puak Elephant Camp.
