Description
Rabiang Daw (ระเบียงดาว) is a quaint coffeehouse located near the historical buildings of Tha Rae, directly opposite Udomdechawat Mansion (คฤหาสน์อุดมเดชวัฒน์), the famous old French style building that always is shown in articles written about the town. It is walking distance from St. Michael's Cathedral, one of Tha Rae's most popular tourist attractions. The cute interior is especially nice for kids, and they have ice cream and deserts that both kids and adults will enjoy, as well as coffee, iced tea, and other drinks (all at very good prices). There are lunch and dinner dishes on the menu too.
The Christian atmosphere of Tha Rae can been seen in the angel sculptures on the balcony and the electric star above. The name Rabiang Daw actually means "star balcony" in Thai (although the Thai word for star sounds like "Dow" rather than "Daw"). The other signature aspect of the exterior is a new mural being painted on the outside, which welcomes visitors to Tha Rae. There also is a swing on the outside where you can enjoy your iced coffee and watch the Tha Rae street life.
One thing to note about the Google Maps listing for Rabiang Daw. Currently the 1st image on the page is not showing the establishment but Wara's Cafe, the coffeehouse across the street. So, be aware of that when you are looking for the place.
