Description
Don't let the ramshackle facade of Go Go Pad Thai (โกโก้ผัดไทย) fool you! As is so often the case in Thailand, it's these often-overlooked roadside restaurants that, although a little untidy, have the best food. This is because the specialize in only a few dishes, rather than trying to impress with a big menu. Along with Pad Thai Pa Lek, it is one of the best two places to order a quick Pad Thai in Sakon Nakhon. In fact, it is better than many of the popular Pad Thai places in Bangkok.
Another specialty of Go Go Pad Thai is one of my favorite Thai street foods: Moo Satay (หมูสะเต๊ะ), which is marinated pork grilled on a stick and served with a pickled cucumber salad and peanut sauce for dipping. Their version is again one of the best I've had in Thailand. They are located downtown, not far from the City Gate. Most customers order their dishes for takeaway, and we would suggest that too, because there isn't much room for sitting down.
Remember, when ordering Pad Thai for takeaway, you want to eat as soon as possible. Otherwise, the noodles will start to clump together. Also be sure to squeeze that lime on top before eating!
