Phu Pha Cafe View (ภูผาคาเฟ่วิว) is a scenic coffeehouse overlooking Huai Nam Bo Reservoir in Sakon Nakhon. Coffee shops opening near Northeastern Thailand's many scenic overlooks has increased over the past few years, and Phu Pha Cafe View is a great example of one.
This lakeside coffeehouse doesn't offer much in the way of specialty coffee drinks (at this time), but offers basic, but good quality coffee, latte, and cappuccino, as well as traditional Thai tea and green tea. The desert offerings were only two cakes when we visited, but the chocolate cake that we did order was delicious.
Phu Pha Cafe View has a rooftop level where you can enjoy your drink and desert, while taking in the beautiful lake view and cool mountain breezes. From the roof, you can also glimpse the entrance to the Khao Dan-Tham Suea Bureau of Monks (which is lovely to walk around), and nearby is the monastery Ham Bing Pracha Suk San Priest's Camp Site, with its fierce Cobra statues guarding the gate.
