Description
Sniff Specialty Coffee really raises the bar when it comes to Sakon Nakhon coffeehouses. The owners obviously understood that with so many coffee shops in the city, you really need to do something special to stand out from the crowd. Located in the downtown, not far from the Sakon Nakhon clock tower, Sniff cafe offers more than just "specialty coffee". They also serve several of Fentimans botanically brewed sodas, such as ginger beer and cherry cola, delicious croissant sandwiches, puff pastry sandwiches, a wide variety of fabulous desserts (such as Caramel Macadamia Cheesecake, Apple Crumble, and Carrot Cake), and yogurt smoothies.
Sniff Specialty Coffee atmosphere is relaxed, artfully decorated, and dimly lit. Walking into the place has the feel of an old speakeasy. The staff is friendly to foreigners, and the background music is chill. There are some negative reviews on Google about loud rap and hip hop being played in the morning, but those are old reviews from around a year ago. It seems like Sniff has course corrected with their music, and now are making excellent choices (at least, when we have been there).
When it comes to specialty coffee, the Sniff coffeehouse menu is split into "white" and "black" coffees, and "simple" coffee beans or Sniff's specialty blend, which has hint of nuttiness and chocolate that coffee lovers will appreciate. Specific coffee drinks include Caramel Machiatto, Piccolo, Mocca, Affogata, Dirty Coffee, and more. In addition to a regular shot of espresso, you can get a peach espresso (which is quite good). They open at 7:30 am (except on weekends), so you can drop by early in the morning before you start exploring Sakon Nakhon.
